HVAC (Heating & Cooling)

How often should my system be serviced?
Most homeowners schedule maintenance twice a year — spring and fall. Regular service improves efficiency, extends equipment life, and helps prevent breakdowns.

Do you offer maintenance plans?
Yes. The Peak Comfort Club includes seasonal tune-ups, priority scheduling, and discounts on repairs. (Contact)

How do I know if my system needs cleaning?
Common signs include reduced airflow, uneven temperatures, higher energy bills, or excess dust in the home.

How often should I replace my air filter?
Typically every 1–3 months, depending on usage, pets, and allergies.

What happens during a maintenance visit?
We clean and inspect components, check refrigerant levels, test safety controls, and make recommendations. Visits usually take 1–3 hours.

Can maintenance improve efficiency?
Yes. A clean, well-tuned system uses less energy and experiences less wear and tear.

Do you offer emergency repairs?
We don’t staff phones overnight, but for systems we’ve installed, we work hard to respond quickly so you’re not left without heating or cooling.

How long do HVAC systems last?
With proper maintenance, most systems last 12–15 years.

Heat Pump Water Heaters (HPWH)

What is a heat pump water heater?
An electric water heater that pulls heat from the surrounding air, making it far more efficient than standard electric or gas models.

How efficient are they?
Most use 50–70% less energy than traditional electric water heaters.

Do they work well in Oregon?
Yes. They perform very well in our climate, especially in garages, basements, and utility rooms.

Will I still have enough hot water?
Yes. Proper sizing ensures reliable hot water for your household’s needs.

Are they noisy?
They make a quiet hum, similar to a refrigerator.

Can they replace a gas water heater?
Often, yes. Some homes may need electrical upgrades, which we can handle.

Do heat pump water heaters need maintenance?
Very little — usually just periodic air filter cleaning and occasional checks.

Are rebates or tax credits available?
Often, yes. We help identify eligible incentives and provide documentation. (Consult a tax professional when filing.)

Is a heat pump water heater right for my home?
Most homes are good candidates. We’ll assess your space, electrical capacity, hot water use, and incentives to help you decide.
